Where Did The hCG Diet Protocol Come From?
The original hCG diet protocol was created by British endocrinologist name Albert Simeons. Back in the 50′s, Simeons was studying some pregnant women in India who had calorie deficient diets as well as some boys who had a rare pituitary disorder.
In one of his tests, he gave them human chorionic gonadotrophin or hCG as it is referred to today. He noticed that the hCG helped his patients retain lean muscle mass while shedding fat.
Simeons found the ultimate weight loss diet – The hCG diet – By accident…
Simeons also noticed that it curbed the appetite of those on hCG. Their appetites were suppressed. That is where the real weight loss comes in. After he put this all together, he put out a book called Pounds & Inches, where he recommends a low-calorie diet in conjunction with human chorionic gonadotrophin or hCG.
The hCG Diet is using human chorionic gonadotrophin in conjunction with a low-calorie diet
That is the basic history of the HCG diet. You do need to understand that there are some who think it is dangerous or not effective. Why would they say such things?
The Journal of the American Medical Association and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition both say that the diet is not safe and it is not effective as a diet. Which is strange, due to a number of reasons. My parents lost weight on the injections and I lost weight on the drops.
The reason they do not put the “safe” or “not effective as a weight loss treatment” is because they have not studied it. They also have not done enough tests on it. If and when that ever comes, then they can finally list the benefits and risks (if any). I am sure there are some risks. Since when does anything come risk free?
Thanks for reading the history of the hCG Diet Protocol!
